So... Any possibility of seeing anything new soon? Maybe project updates? The archive coming online? Anything at all?

(Just trying to start up some conversation here...)

well, I just upgraded to eblah 10.2.5 just now. It must be working :)

Calc wise. I'm doing some cleanup on the Slayers engine for a quick game I may release for the 89.  Although it's not going to be a traditional RPG in the sense, it will show off what the engine can do dialog wise. What it's going to be? well, they like to yell it in a lot :) The cleanup will not fix the 2400 file limit problem it's running into, but I don't know if it's even worth fixing considering the expansion loss that can occur. I can't imagine a game that would use 2400 instances, or even 1000 for that matter. inventory handling is definitely going to be different and most likely single file per 100 items, and some simple dialog can be merged into a single file format with no problem, The walking engine on the other hand would lose a ton of expansion if I dropped it from 3 files to 2. Something I don't know if I want to sacrifice in the name of file issues. even a 300 room game would be under 900 files worst case scenario and best case 600. FF7, with it's simple matrix room handling, technically had 200 rooms, even though most of them were either blank or had a single city in them, but it still seemed huge. boxctrl is going to change slightly to free up some task space, and tasks that wont be needed for this new game will be removed. (they will stay with the engine when it's released)

As for the archive. I've given up looking for a file manager. They either cost money, do next to nothing, or require an SQL database which I don't have to spare. eventually, I'm going to make a forum section and post them there. Hopefully when I get some spare time I can get on with that. I've though about linking the files to the ticalc.org page for the download stats, but since some of Hiryu's games are not on ticalc for some reason when they used to be (Namely, Nene's adventure) they will most likely be hosted on our server.

Awesome.

It would be cool, if at least for now, to link to the ones on ticalc, until you can either get or make an archive manager.

If I happen to see one, I will let you know. :)

so...does this thread constitute the entirety of these boards?

I was hoping to find a calc programming forum and this came up.  If there's no hidden reason that the boards have only accumulated less than 100 total posts...eh... :-/

This is a fairly new board. :P Make some posts, help make it active. Or look around, there are tons more other sites to visit if this place doesn't fit your fancy...

For the moment all planned updates and projects have been put on hold till my brother's surgery is done and over with and hes back out and moving about. Spinal fusion surgeries are no joke and I plan to get on the ball on updates after everything is done and over with. Probably looking around mid/late June.
peace

Job is being a job. sucking most of my life away anyways. other than the job, Eve online and my 4 day vacation in lovely Rapture, it's been going pretty well.

most of the RV stuff is finished. it's pretty much ready to go, but since it's going to get winterized soon it's not going anywhere anytime soon. I might take it somewhere one last time before the weather breaks.

game wise, still pretty lazy in that dept. converted some more phoenix wright pictures, but that's about it.

Hiryu's brother is doing well, don't know much else on what Hiryu's up to game wise other than Ragnarok.

Site's still pretty dead. Not really surprised there, especially since I don't think anyone programs games for the 89 anymore and we're primarialy 89/92 programmers. it's all about the 83 nowadays.

You should take some time to visit my site then. TI-Freakware seems to have went from a team of one for z80 basic, to a team of 3 68k'ers and me, a lowly z80 basic programmer. :P Anyways, some of the projects that are being made should show you that the 68k scene is far from dead. :)

I saw the name Fryedsoft come up on omnimaga and I wondered if it could be at all possible that Fryed software was still around. I thought "No way, the name just has to be a coincedence". And yet here I am, and I can't believe after all these years fryed software is still around. I didn't think that anyone who had been in the ti-community that long was still around. I myself have been around since about 98, and have been on and off after about 2001. I recently returned and have been rather excited about it. I really hope you guys stay around and I hope you change your minds about not doing clac. programming anymore. Some of those old games were the greatest! You can't imagine the nostalgia I felt when I realized ZOMG! IT'S Ed Fry!

Yep. we're still around.

I still program here and there but not nearly as active as I used to be and frankly, the 89 basic community is looking just as active as I have been. One of these days I'm going to release something, I just don't know when. I'd like to get this slayers engine out at some point.

Most of my time has been taken up on bluecrimson studios, which reminds me I have to fix the emergency brake on so I can put it in storage for the winter.

Hiryu is up to something. I don't know if he wants it out or not, so I'll let him tell you guys what he's up to.
